Build a Hairpiece
As a No Hair
Club Member, you can have confidence in learning how to make
a No Hair
Club Template. Once you make your
hairpiece
template, we can start to
build
a hairpiece custom made to fit your individual needs.
Our easy to follow illustrations, "Templates
for Hairpieces", will help you know
how to
make a hair piece template. The first step
to build
a hairpiece is to stretch Saran Wrap plastic wrap over
the head for the
No Hair Club Template. Twisting
at the sides and having the member hold it down firmly. Second run
clear, see through, packing tape strips from front to back and from
side to side, overlapping to form a
hairpiece
template. Four layers are usually enough. Next using
a permanent marker, draw the exact outline of the
hairpiece
template, the size you want, including front recession
lines, part placement (if any), hair direction, exactly as you want
them on the finished hairpiece. Now remove the
No Hair Club Template from the members
head and cut off excess tape around edges.

Using a permanent marker, draw pattern liners
on the taped
hairpiece template while it is still
on your head. Though requirements vary from client to client, some
rules of thumb apply to most. Front hair line should usually be
established by placing 3 or 4 of your fingers (depending on clients
age) at the top brow line. Lines are drawn from that pint to form
a pattern which covers the bald area. Deeper frontal recessions
look most natural.

Side measurement is done like men's above.
However, front to back is different. Because women typically thin
in front but don't recede like men do, it is wise to use the natural
bang and add hair behind it. (some men may choose to do this technique
also) Start your measurement about 1 inch behind the natural front
hair line, going over the top to back as far as it needs to cover
the thin area.

Step 1

Place a sheet of Saran wrap, plastic wrap or similar material over
the head coming down
almost to the shoulders. Twist the ends so the plastic forms to
the contour of the head.

Step 2

|
The Wearer holds the twisted ends while a helper
covers the entire area to be marked With strips
of 3m clear tape. Attach the tape from front to
back and side to side, four layers total. Overlap
the strips to create a firm shell, Walla, a
hairpiece template.
|
| |
Start marking on the mold in front (Approx. 3-4
fingers above the brow will establish the natural
hairline), Use a black marker. Out line the bald
area at the hairline around perimeter. If attachment
to the good hair is desired then the line must be
drawn into the good hair 1/2 inch. Indicate part,
if any. Using arrows, show hair direction (combed
forward or back, ect) hair direction, particularly
in front, is important to have the hairpiece conform
to the clients styling desire. Put (F) in front,
(B) in back, (L) on left side, & (R) on right side.

choose Multi-Directional.
Build a Hairpiece Hair Color: Using a sample
from the crown or back of the Members head and tape
around the end of the sample(s). Please write down
what part of the head your sample is coming from.
If your sides have more grey, clip a sample, be
sure to identify this is for sides only. Grey hair
